Congratulations on becoming a member! This guide walks you through casting your first vote on a DAO proposal.
Before You Begin
Make sure you've completed your membership setup:
- Email verified
- KYC approved
- Membership payment completed
- Membership NFT received
If any of these are incomplete, return to the Getting Started checklist.

- Navigate to Governance in the main navigation
- View Active Proposals - these are proposals currently open for voting
Active proposals show:
- Proposal title and description
- Current vote counts (For/Against)
- Time remaining to vote
- Your voting status (if you've already voted)
Understanding a Proposal
Before voting, take time to understand what you're voting on:
Proposal Information
- Title: Brief summary of the proposal
- Description: Full details of what's being proposed
- Category: Type of proposal (e.g., Treasury, Governance, Operations)
- Author: Who submitted the proposal
- Discussion: Link to community discussion (if available)
Voting Window
Each proposal has a defined voting period. You can only vote while the proposal is Active. Once the voting window closes, the proposal moves to Closed status and no more votes are accepted.
Casting Your Vote
- Click on the proposal you want to vote on
- Review the proposal details carefully
- Choose your vote: For or Against
- Confirm your vote - a confirmation dialog will appear
- Wait for confirmation - your vote is recorded on-chain
Important Notes
- One vote per member: Each member gets exactly one vote per proposal (1-Member-1-Vote)
- Votes are final: Once cast, votes cannot be changed
- Vote NFT: A temporary Vote-Pass NFT is minted when you vote, then burned when the proposal closes
After Voting
Once you've voted:
- Your vote is recorded and visible in your voting history
- You can see the current vote tally on the proposal
- When voting closes, results are tallied and the outcome is announced
Checking Your Vote History
To see all proposals you've voted on:
- Go to your Dashboard
- Navigate to Voting History
- View your past votes and their outcomes
Common Questions
Q: Can I change my vote? No, votes are final once cast. Take time to review the proposal before voting.
Q: Why can't I vote? Check that your membership is active and not expired. You must have a valid Membership NFT to vote.
Q: How are votes counted? Each member has one vote. Proposals pass or fail based on the total For vs Against votes.
