Inventory & Currencies
Otter Camp includes an inventory system for tracking your items, currencies, and Song Fragments collected during your adventures.
Accessing Your Inventory
Opening the Inventory
There are two ways to open your inventory:
- Keyboard: Press the
Ikey - HUD Icon: Click the backpack icon (🎒) in the top-left corner of the screen
Closing the Inventory
- Press
Iagain to toggle it closed - Press
ESCto close - Click outside the inventory panel
HUD Currency Display
The top-left corner of the screen shows your current currency balances:

| Fish | 🐟 | In-game currency earned through gameplay |
| Shells | 🐚 | Premium currency for special items |
| DOM | 💎 | DAO governance tokens (for co-op members) |
Currency Animations
When you gain or lose currency, the HUD shows:
- Green pulse (+): Currency gained
- Red pulse (-): Currency spent
- Floating number: Shows the amount changed
Inventory Panel
Item Grid
Your inventory displays items in a 5x4 grid (20 slots). Each item slot shows:
- Icon: Visual representation of the item
- Name: Item name below the icon
- Quantity: Stack count (for stackable items)
Item Categories
Use the tabs at the top of the inventory to filter items:

Item Details
Click on any item to see its details in the right panel:
- Large Icon: Bigger view of the item
- Name: Full item name
- Description: What the item does or its lore
- Quantity: How many you have
Song Fragments
Song Fragments are special quest items collected as part of the "Song of the Otters" quest chain.
Fragment Section
The inventory includes a dedicated fragment display showing:
- Progress Bar: Visual progress toward collecting all 12 fragments
- Counter: Shows "X/12 Fragments" collected
- Fragment Grid: Individual fragment icons
Fragment States

| Locked | Crossed-out icon | In a locked zone (requires DAO funding) |
Fragment Details
Click on a collected fragment to see:
- Fragment Name: e.g., "Verse of Innocence"
- Archetype: Which archetype this fragment represents
- Lore Text: Story text from Jack and Elira's tale
- Location: Where you found this fragment
Item Types
Currency Items
Currency items appear in your inventory but are primarily tracked in the HUD:
- Fish: Common currency for shops and services
- Shells: Rare currency for premium content
- DOM Tokens: Governance tokens (members only)
Materials
Resources collected during exploration and combat:
- Wood, Stone, and other crafting materials
- Used for future crafting systems
Artifacts
Special items with unique properties:
- Quest rewards
- Achievement tokens
- Commemorative items
Fragments
The 12 Song Fragments scattered across the world:
- 8 fragments in exploration zones
- 4 fragments in camp buildings
- Collecting all 12 unlocks the "Song of the Otters" completion
Tips
- Check your inventory regularly to see what you've collected
- Use category tabs to quickly find specific item types
- The fragment section helps track your quest progress
- Watch the HUD for currency changes after completing activities
- The inventory icon shows a red dot when you have new items
