Quest Board

The Quest Board displays governance proposals as quest cards, allowing you to browse, filter, view, and vote on community proposals within the Otter Camp game experience.

Accessing the Quest Board

  1. Walk to the Quest Board building in the Camp Hub
  2. When within range, an interaction prompt appears ("Press E / Click")
  3. Press E or click to open the Quest Board panel

Viewing Quests

Each quest card displays:

  • Title - The proposal title
  • Description - Brief summary (first 100 characters)
  • Vote Counts - Rally (for), Oppose (against), and Abstain counts
  • Time Remaining - Countdown until voting ends
  • Progress Bar - Visual representation of vote ratio

Quest Status Colors

  • Green - Active (voting in progress)
  • Blue - Passed (proposal approved)
  • Red - Failed (proposal rejected)
  • Orange - Pending (awaiting activation)

Filtering Quests

Use the filter buttons at the top of the panel:

  • All - Show all proposals
  • Active - Only show proposals with open voting
  • Passed - Show approved proposals
  • Failed - Show rejected proposals

Sorting Quests

Click the sort icons to change the order:

  • Clock - Sort by ending soon (active proposals first)
  • New - Sort by newest first
  • Ballot - Sort by most votes

Quest Details

Click any quest card to view full details:

  • Complete proposal description
  • Proposer information
  • Detailed vote visualization (bar chart)
  • Quorum status (votes needed)
  • Voting buttons (if you're an active member and haven't voted yet)

Click the Back button or press ESC to return to the quest list.

Voting on Quests

Active members can vote directly from the Quest Board. The game uses otter-themed terminology for votes:

How to Vote

  1. Open a quest card with an Active status
  2. If you're eligible to vote, you'll see three voting buttons
  3. Click your chosen vote (Rally, Oppose, or Stand Aside)
  4. A confirmation dialog appears - click Confirm to submit
  5. A receipt animation confirms your vote was recorded

Voting Eligibility

To vote on a quest, you must:

  • Be an active member of the Romp (DAO)
  • Not have already voted on this proposal
  • The proposal must be in Active status (voting still open)

Vote Status Messages

Optimistic Updates

When you cast a vote:

  1. Your vote choice appears immediately (optimistic UI)
  2. The vote is sent to the governance canister
  3. If successful, you see a confirmation receipt
  4. If the vote fails, it automatically rolls back with an error message

Live Tally Updates

While viewing a quest detail, the vote tally automatically refreshes every 10 seconds, so you can see the latest vote counts in real-time.

Refreshing

Click the refresh icon to fetch the latest proposals from the governance canister.

Tips

  • Check the Quest Board regularly to stay updated on active proposals
  • Active quests ending soon appear at the top when sorted by "ending soon"
  • Use filters to quickly find proposals you haven't voted on yet
  • Your vote is final and cannot be changed - review carefully before confirming
  • If a vote fails due to network issues, wait a moment and try again
