Ritual Circle
The Ritual Circle is a sacred gathering place where DAO members can contribute DOM tokens to the community burn pool. Contributing tokens demonstrates commitment to the cooperative and helps maintain healthy tokenomics.
Accessing the Ritual Circle
- Walk to the Ritual Circle building in the Camp Hub
- When within range, an interaction prompt appears ("Press E / Click")
- Press E or click to open the Ritual Circle panel
Overview
The Ritual Circle displays:
- Burn Pool Total - The cumulative contribution value from all members
- Your Balance - Your current DOM token balance
- Contribution Preview - Shows your contribution value before confirming
Burn Types
When contributing tokens, you can choose between two burn types:

| Ecological | 5:1 | Earmarked for ecological initiatives - 5x contribution value |
Choosing a Burn Type
- Standard is ideal for general community support
- Ecological provides higher contribution value and directs funds toward environmental initiatives
- Your contribution value is calculated as:
amount * multiplier
Making a Contribution
Step 1: Enter Amount
Use the input controls to set your contribution amount:
- Type directly in the input field
- Use + and - buttons for fine adjustment
- Use Max to contribute your entire balance
- Use quick amount buttons: 100, 500, 1000
Step 2: Select Burn Type
Click either Standard or Ecological to select your burn type. The contribution preview updates automatically.
Step 3: Review and Confirm
- Check the contribution preview (amount and calculated value)
- Click the Contribute button
- A confirmation dialog appears showing:
- Amount to be burned
- Selected burn type
- Contribution value
- Click Confirm to proceed or Cancel to go back
Step 4: Completion
After confirming:
- An animation plays showing your contribution rising to the pool
- The pool total updates with your contribution
- Your balance decreases by the contributed amount
Eligibility Requirements
To contribute at the Ritual Circle, you must:
- Be an active member of the Romp (DAO)
- Have sufficient DOM token balance
- Not have a pending contribution in progress
Status Messages
| Message | Meaning |

| "Join the Romp to participate in burns!" | You're not a member yet |
| "Membership expired. Please renew." | Your membership needs renewal |
| "Burn in progress" | Wait for current contribution to complete |
| "Enter a valid amount" | Amount must be greater than zero |
| "Insufficient DOM balance" | You don't have enough tokens |
Optimistic Updates
When you make a contribution:
- Your contribution appears immediately (optimistic UI)
- The burn is sent to the DOM token canister
- If successful, the pool updates and you see a confirmation
- If the burn fails, it automatically rolls back with an error message
Live Pool Updates
The burn pool total automatically refreshes every 10 seconds while the panel is open, so you can see contributions from other members in real-time.
Tips
- Ecological burns provide 5x contribution value - consider using them for maximum impact
- Contributions are permanent and cannot be reversed
- The pool total includes all members' contributions weighted by burn type
- Watch the pool grow as other otters contribute alongside you
- Your burn history is stored locally for your reference
