Think Tank - Proposal Creation Wizard
The Think Tank is your gateway to proposing new ideas and initiatives for the Hello World Co-Op. This guided wizard walks you through creating well-structured proposals that engage the community.
Accessing Think Tank
- Log in to helloworlddao.com
- Navigate to Governance > Think Tank
- Click Create New Proposal
The Proposal Wizard
The Think Tank wizard guides you through four steps:
Step 1: Proposal Type
Select the category that best fits your proposal:
| Category | Use When |
|---|---|
| Treasury | Requesting funds, budget allocations, or financial decisions |
| Governance | Proposing rule changes or voting process updates |
| Operations | Day-to-day operational improvements |
| Membership | Changes to membership policies or benefits |
| Strategic | Long-term direction, partnerships, or major initiatives |
Step 2: Proposal Details
Fill in the core information:
- Title: A clear, concise summary (max 100 characters)
- Description: Full explanation of your proposal
- Rationale: Why this proposal benefits the co-op
- Implementation: How the proposal would be executed
Writing Effective Proposals
- Be specific about what you're proposing
- Include measurable outcomes when possible
- Address potential concerns proactively
- Keep language accessible to all members
Step 3: Voting Configuration
Configure how voting will work:
- Voting Window: Duration for voting (typically 7-14 days)
- Quorum: Minimum participation required (default: 10% of active members)
- Threshold: Percentage needed to pass (default: simple majority 50%+1)
Step 4: Review & Submit
Before submitting:
- Review all details for accuracy
- Preview how your proposal will appear
- Confirm you understand the proposal cannot be edited once submitted
- Click Submit Proposal
Draft Proposals
Not ready to submit? Save as draft:
- Click Save as Draft at any step
- Access drafts from My Proposals > Drafts
- Edit and resume whenever you're ready
- Delete drafts you no longer need
After Submission
Once submitted, your proposal enters the queue:
- Review Period: Brief hold for spam/content check
- Active: Opens for voting
- Notification: Members are notified of new proposals
- Discussion: Community can comment and ask questions
Proposal Guidelines
For the best chance of success:
- Research first: Check if similar proposals exist
- Gather support: Discuss with other members before submitting
- Be responsive: Answer questions during the voting period
- Accept feedback: Consider withdrawing and revising if concerns arise
