- Enter a folder name in the modal
- Click Create to create the folder at the root level
From a Context Menu
- Right-click on an existing folder
- Select New Folder
- Enter a folder name
- The new folder will be created inside the selected folder
Moving Documents into Folders
Drag and Drop
- Click and hold the grip handle (six dots) on the left side of a document
- Drag the document over a folder

- Release to move the document into the folder
Moving Between Folders
You can drag documents:
- From one folder to another
- From inside a folder to the root level
- Between nested folders at any depth
Expanding and Collapsing Folders

Expand/Collapse All
Use the toolbar buttons to:
- Expand All: Show all nested content
- Collapse All: Hide all nested content
Folder Hierarchy
Folders can be nested to create a hierarchy:
My Workspace
├── Projects/
│ ├── Project Alpha/
│ │ ├── Requirements.md
│ │ └── Design Notes.md
│ └── Project Beta/
│ └── Kickoff Notes.md
├── Meeting Notes/
│ ├── Weekly Standup.md
│ └── Quarterly Review.md
└── Ideas.mdVisual Indentation
Each nesting level adds indentation so you can easily see the document hierarchy at a glance.
Folder Actions
Right-click on a folder to access these actions:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Rename | Change the folder name |
| New Folder | Create a subfolder inside this folder |
| New Document | Create a document inside this folder |
| Delete | Move the folder to trash (documents inside are also trashed) |
Tips for Organizing
- Use descriptive names: Name folders by project, date, or topic
- Keep it shallow: 2-3 levels of nesting is usually enough
- Group related items: Keep documents that belong together in the same folder
- Archive old work: Create an "Archive" folder for completed projects
Keyboard Shortcuts
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Click folder | Expand/collapse folder |
| Click document | Open in editor |
| Drag + Drop | Move document to folder |
Troubleshooting
Cannot Drop Here
If you see a "Cannot move" message, you may be trying to:
- Drop a folder into itself
- Drop a parent folder into one of its children (circular reference)
Move the item to a different location instead.
Document Disappeared
If a document seems missing, check:
- Collapsed folders - expand them to see contents
- Trash - the document may have been deleted
- Use the search function to find it by name
