Voting & Governance
The Hello World Co-Op is governed by its members through a direct democratic process. Every member has equal voting power under our 1-Member-1-Vote (1M1V) system.
The 1-Member-1-Vote System
Our governance is built on a fundamental principle: every member has exactly one vote, regardless of how long they've been a member or any other factor.
How 1M1V is Protected
- Soul-Bound Membership NFT: Your membership is non-transferable, preventing vote selling
- Temporary Vote-Pass NFTs: Each vote mints a temporary token that's burned after the proposal closes
- On-Chain Enforcement: All votes are recorded immutably on the Internet Computer blockchain
Why 1M1V Matters
Unlike traditional corporations where voting power is tied to share ownership, our cooperative ensures:
- No accumulation of voting power
- Equal voice for all members
- Democratic control over all major decisions
Proposal Lifecycle
